Taking, Giving & Inculcating soul-conscious drishti

Giving drishti simply means seeing others as pure souls, which radiates pure vibrations to them.

In our organisation, there’s this wonderful practice of taking drishti from senior instrument teachers before important events, when taking toli (prasaad), etc.

Even when God descends in His chariot, the first thing He does is give us drishti i.e., sees us as souls.

It helps us easily experience vibrations of purity, peace, love & happiness, and gain power.

Taking drishti

In order to gain maximum benefit, here’s the best technique of taking drishti:

Taking drishti from God, when He descends or in meditation or through photo of Baapdada

Establish yourself in a soul-conscious state, then:

  • Look at His eyes
  • With the awareness that the Supreme soul (from the centre of the forehead) is looking at me
  • And try to keep the mind as silent as possible, to gain maximum benefit
  • You’ll naturally start experiencing His cool vibrations

If needed, to help experience, we may:

  • Create thoughts such as:
    • I am the Light of God’s eyes
    • He is looking at me with so much love
    • His drishti is very loving, powerful & 100% soul conscious, making me also soul conscious
    • Vibrations of purity & peace are reaching me
  • Visualise subtle rays of soft white light coming from His forehead to us

Along with taking drishti, we can remember the different things that Baba has told us through Murli & Vardaan card, His hopes & aspirations for us, what He must be thinking of us at this time, etc and also talk to Him. This gives a range of very personalised, beautiful experiences.

The face (and eyes) are the index of the mind i.e., our thoughts, attitude & state of mind are reflected through our face & eyes. Hence, taking drishti from God is one of the best & easiest ways of experiencing His very elevated vision & pure feelings for us.

Taking drishti from Instrument Teachers

Even when we take drishti from instrument teachers, we should consider it’s God who’s giving me drishti, also perhaps seeing the face of BaapDada alongwith.

Giving drishti

We use all 3 faculties of the soul; Mind (thoughts), Intellect (visualisation) & Sanskars (experience):

  • See him/her as a soul, a tiny point of light sparkling in the centre of the forehead
  • Create thoughts such as he’s a pure soul, peaceful soul, God’s child, God’s vibrations of love are reaching him, etc [See List of thoughts below]
  • Try to gently experience the thoughts created

What we experience inside is the vibrations radiated outside to the soul. Hence, the more regular & deeper our practice of meditation, the quicker & more powerful are the vibrations while giving drishti.

This is the reason why it’s a very good practice to take drishti from senior experienced meditators, since their powerful stage & experiences over the years results in powerful vibrations which benefit us.

List of thoughts to create while giving drishti

There’re a wide variety of thoughts that can be created while giving drishti:

  • He’s a pure soul, peaceful soul, loveful soul, blissful, powerful, etc
  • He’s a sparkling star, divine light, conscient being, master of the body, seeing through the eyes, etc
  • God’s powerful vibrations of purity, peace & love are reaching the soul
  • He is God’s child, God has specially chosen him, God’s special Jewel
  • Being child of One Father, we are brother souls; we are One
  • He’s a divine soul, was & will become full of divine virtues again
  • Thoughts regarding specialities of the specific soul e.x., Very caring, supportive, etc or what Baba has said to that soul through Vardaan card

Inculcating a natural soul-conscious drishti

While the above applies to the specific case of giving drishti when someone requests for it, God gives the Shrimat (elevated direction) to us, of maintaining a natural soul-conscious drishti in each of our interactions, with everyone we meet.

This doesn’t mean continuously looking at the soul as point of light. It just means creating the required thoughts & maintaining the very pure spiritual awareness that the one whom I’m interacting with is a soul, which makes our state of mind and hence the interaction very pure, light & fruitful.

Hence, here are some best practices for inculcating this very elevated virtue:

1. Interactions, Phone Calls & Text Chats

While our aim is to maintain a soul-conscious dristhi throughout our interactions, a good way to start is by focusing on the start & end of interactions:

  • Before or just after starting an interaction, phone call, text chat, etc, create one of the above thoughts e.x., He’s a pure peaceful being
  • After finishing the interaction & waving goodbye or putting down the phone, create a soul-conscious thought for that soul. Then, take the learning from the interaction and put a full stop, this ensures our stage remains as elevated as before
  • Even between interactions, especially long interactions, we could create a few soul-conscious thoughts in between to maintain this very pure elevated awareness

2.Talking

Whenever we speak i.e., words come out from our mouth, always keep the awareness I’m speaking to the soul i.e., my words are being directed to the soul & it’s the soul who’s listening.

This is a very simple & very powerful technique of maintaining soul consciousness in interactions.

3. Specialities

Along with maintaining a soul-conscious drishti, God’s Shrimat tells us to always look at specialities & virtues of the other soul.

Hence, it’s a very good idea to write down 2-3 specialities of each soul we come into regular contact with. Then, each time we interact with them, keep these specialities in awareness. This keeps our interactions very elevated & free from waste.

General

The above points may seem and are closely connected, but working on each of these separately helps us develop a powerful stage, and gives variety in our spiritual efforts.

Other Applications of soul-conscious drishti

This approach of giving drishti i.e., vibrations can be applied to a variety of cases, benefitting us in numerous ways:

  • God’s Shrimat tells us to always eat in a meditative state of mind; one of the techniques for this is giving drishti to food & water before consumption; i.e., looking at the food & creating thoughts like:
    • I’m a pure soul
    • Vibrations of purity are getting absorbed in the food
    • God’s peace & love is getting filled in the food
    • etc
  • After or during our meditation, it’s a very good practice to emerge & give drishti to souls we come into regular contact with, and those we have a tough karmic account with; this helps make our relations very smooth, flowing & beautiful
  • While listening to Murli, we could see BaapDada in front of us, giving drishti and speaking to us. This gives a range of deep varied experiences

Benefits of soul-conscious drishti

Benefits in Interactions:

  • Radiates continuous pure elevated vibrations, hence making:
    • Our interactions very light, fulfilling and full of satisfaction & blessings
    • The atmosphere around very pure & powerful, which benefits all
  • It’s one of the easiest techniques of combining service through words & service through mind; our words touches people’s hearts and they’re able to easily understand & appreciate our sharings
  • Acts as a powerful shield of protection against any overpowering, waste, negative or impure influence of others; even transforming the attitudes of others
  • When we see others as souls, we remain aware they’re on a long journey with different experiences, hence we’re able to accept & understand even their very different sanskars
  • When we see others as souls, we rise above temporary labels of achievements & position, physical appearance, age, etc which no longer unduly affect us. Hence, we’re able to maintain our constant flow of true respect & pure elevated vibrations towards them

Benefits related to Meditation / God:

  • It’s also a technique of meditation, hence we get all the benefits of meditation
  • Then later when we sit specially for meditation, since our stage has already remained so elevated throughout in interactions, connecting to God & experiencing all His qualities becomes very easy & natural
  • Since God’s drishti is always 100% soul conscious, it’s one of the ways to Follow Father & become equal to Him

Om Shanti!
